ZnO Surge Arresters

Property Specification

Type: Zinc Oxide (ZnO) Over-Voltage Surge Arrester

Features: Engineered with high-grade ZnO varistor elements, this advanced over-voltage protective device delivers critical surge suppression across distribution and transmission networks. Standard operating conditions produce minimal leakage currents in the microampere range, ensuring maximum thermal stability and energy efficiency. Upon detecting high-voltage transients from lightning strikes or switching operations, its non-linear voltage-current response transitions the device to a highly conductive state, safely channeling thousands of amperes to ground to clamp residual voltage. Superior to legacy silicon carbide (SiC) units, it features higher energy absorption.
